Disputes
Wed, 02/03/2010 - 13:08
The majority of disputes about the Holodomor arise around the question whether the famine was a deliberate aim of power and if you had to be called ethnic genocide. Also been reported cases of exaggeration, invention and falsification of historical facts in the matter. Critics who reject the documentation of genocide based on the following arguments: Most visual materials attributed to Holodomor are actually the Red Cross records and refer to the Russian famine of 1921, the result of civil war. Authentic materials of the 1930s just may exist in such numbers because of the control over the media part of the Soviet security services at the time. Sometimes they have used images of the Great Depression in the U.S. in exhibitions focusing on the Holodomor.
